ESTIAN JANSEN VAN RENSBURG
I started dancing at the young age of 7 years old doing Funk Jazz in Mossel Bay, Garden Route. Trained by Annette Culbert, I found my love for dancing and knew that I would dance my entire life!
In 2004 I started my Hip Hop journey with Angeline Mynhardt at Angeline’s Dance Academy and had the privilege to be the Assistant Dance Teacher at her studio from 2005 till 2007. In 2008 I made the big move to be trained in Cape Town at Out Of Africa Dance Academy with trainers Jason Meyer and Ivy Meyer. This was where I got the opportunity to be part of the South African Dance Team for the first time that competed at the World Hip Hop Championships in Germany.
In 2009 I opened my own dance studio in Mossel Bay, with my dance partner at the time,
Biance van Rensburg, Dynamic Dance Academy. We won numerous awards at championships and for the second time I was once again chosen to compete at the World Hip Hop Championships in 2011 at Austria.
In 2012 I made the decision to move to Cape Town permanently and got accepted to study
acting for screen and stage at AFDA. This is where I obtained my BA Degree in Live
Performance in 2015.
While studying in Cape Town, I joined Daphne’s studio, and this became my dance family. In 2017 I obtained my SABOD Hip Hop Dance Teacher Diploma under the training of Daphne Jubber. In 2018 I made yet another big move to Hermanus in the Overberg where I opened my own dance studio, Haus Of Performance. Over the next 6 years, my students competed in
numerous dance competitions, performed at multiple dance productions and did their SABOD Hip Hop Exams.
Now in 2024, being my 27th year of dancing, I am back in Cape Town where I belong, working in the film production industry and teaching at Daphne Jubber! I am passionate about dance. Love performing and teaching. Dance will always be a big part of my life!
